Commander:

Evan Bechac

My name is Evan Bechac (HN 1213). I am a Senior majoring in Professional Land and Resource Management. I am originally from Hammond Louisiana and attended Arch Bishop Hannah High School. Prior to the role of Commander, I served as Treasurer and Lieutenant Commander for the Eta Nu Chapter. Outside of the fraternity I have held the position as IFC Vice President of Development and currently hold the position of President of the Student Association of Professional Landmen. This summer I will be interning at Chevron for the second time, but in Greeley Colorado where I will be doing surface land work. I give all of the credit to my brothers of the Eta Nu Chapter who constantly push me to better myself in all that I do.

Our Philanthropy: Faith House of Acadiana

The Faith House of Acadiana is a remarkable non-profit organization dedicated to providing support and resources to survivors of domestic violence in the Acadiana area. With a strong focus on offering shelter, safety, empowerment, and advocacy, Faith House has left an indelible mark on the community. The impact of their work is evident in the staggering numbers: over 11,000 individuals have found refuge in their emergency shelter, and over 25,000 people have received crucial crisis intervention services from this vital organization. It is truly heartening to witness the positive influence and assistance that Faith House provides to those in need, and we remain committed to offering our full support to this invaluable cause.

How we’ve helped

This past Fall Semester, our former Philanthropy Chair Holden Harrel (current Lieutenant Commander), planned our first annual White Rose Week. This week was a significant milestone for our fraternity, marking the beginning of a new tradition to support charitable causes and foster strong relationships within our community. The meticulously planned week featured a variety of events, including giveback nights, a spirited carwash, and engaging activities designed to involve sororities in our fundraising efforts for Faith House.

The enthusiastic participation and overwhelming support from our members, as well as the broader community, made this initiative a resounding success and one of our proudest achievements in recent memory. Together, we rallied and demonstrated our commitment to making a difference, resulting in an astounding fundraising total of over $10,000. This remarkable sum will undoubtedly make a meaningful impact on the important work being done by Faith House, and we are honored to have played a part in supporting such a vital cause.
